I just recently installed a Win2000 ADV. Server as PDC w/ AD, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SQL(for arcserve2000), and TCP/IP. I cannot understand why my users intermittantly lose there authentication and are locked out of the server. They have to completely shutdown and power off before they can get back on. Sometimes they get an error “No domains server can be found to authenticate user” when they try to log back on. Sometimes they get an error “Your user name or password is invalid” . And then suddenly as if nothing was wrong it will all start working again. The only errors in the event log have to do with DNS dynamic updating and a master browser challenge by a win98 pc could this be my problem? Seriously I have never seen all the users on a network lose authentication because of a master browser election, does dynamic dns have control of user access?
