Users are removed from Distribution Lists

By jeffb ·
I have users that get removed automatically from distribution lists. They don't get removed from all their distribution lists, just certain ones. If you look at their group membership, they are in the group, but they don't get any email sent to the distribution list that is associated with the group. I've removed them from the group and then added them back in and everything is good for a few days and then they are not on the DL again.

Check for confilcts

Check for conflicts between lists. Deny over rides allow. So if they are part of a list that has deny priviledges and you add them to a list that has full access they will get the deny. You may have to create a new list just for those that need access to both.

Create a new group

I am running Exchange 2003 now so I have no longer encountered that problem, however when I ran Exchange 2000, I occassional experienced it. Most likely it's from doing a migration from an earlier version of Exchange. To permanently resolve it, you will have to recreate the groups. If you migrated, some of the Active Directory attributes may have become corrupted.

Are you replicating from any other sites, i.e. are you a domain in a forest. This could be causing problems with AD if you don't have the right permissions.
