Using a foxpro db with visual basic

By avsune ·
I have a foxpro application and a vb application. I want to access the foxpro db from my vb application. I connect through odbc I get the data but it takes quite some time to retrieve the data and it slows down my fox pro application - any ideas on what the problem might be.

Please expand on these few points:

Are you using a Foxpro DBC database or free DBF tables?

Which ODBC driver are you using?

Are you using server or client side cursors, ADO or DAO?

First foxpro db are really slow if your'e accessing it through odbc and the locking mechanism is different that's why it slows down your foxpro application. I suggest that use ADO in both application so that you have the same type of access.
