Using a mac on a windows wireless network

    Locked

    by jlbaer ·

My daughter is studying abroad in Italy. Her roomates all have pc’s and she has an Apple MacBook Pro. They got wireless internet via a wireless sim card but someone told her if they download the software that would enable her to use her Mac on it that the other roomates with pc’s wouldn’t be able to use theirs. Any ideas? I have limted information other than this so if I need to get more…I can probably email her.

      Hi!
From my knowledge (and I have implemented this in multiple environments), wireless networks are not specific to a certain OS, as long as they all use the same protocol (usually 802.11a/b/g) To connect a MAC to a wireless network, you don’t need to install special software. All you need is the credentials required to connect.
