Using same Outlook Express with 2 OS's

By Geoff59 ·
I ran my computer with Windows ME and then installed XP on the same computer in a different partition so when I boot up I can use either ME or XP. Is it possible to use the Outlook Express with all my messages from Windows ME with XP when I go on line with XP or do I need to transfer/import all messages from ME OE to XP OE? It would be great to use the same OE.

I don't think you can use the exact same copy of OE in both systems. However, Oe does let you tell it where you want to store messages. (tools/ options/ maintenance/ store folder). Perhaps if you pointed the two systems' OE to the same store folder, you'd get the result you want. I've not tried it, so YMMV

Not only is OE different, IE is different for each operating system also.

You need to install IE and OE seperately for each operating system.

I agree with answer 1, that you should be able to use the same folder to store the E-mails in.

Youwill end up with seperate address books though.
