Using Send on Behalf permissions to a shared resource

by minkey23 . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

I understand the difference between send as and send on behalf. The reason I want to use send on behalf is the fact that I want to give colleagues flexibility in managing their own shared mailboxes. If they have an assistant that needs access to the shared mailbox, they can use the send on behalf rights and delegate permissions.

I have granted my self access to the shared resource and tested granting someone send on behalf rights.(I had to set up a new profile). The problem is I keep getting errors when I am directly logged in to the mailbox. It does not allow me to grant send on behalf rights to another colleague without using EMC. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can remedy the situation? Or is this something I cannot do. I have to grant them send as rights in EMC?
