using SSL with Exchange 2000

A large client of my company is requiring use to set up SSL for our e-mail system because occasionally we have to send them a username and password to access data on our ecom site. I know I need to register with Verisign or someone like that but otherwise I’m lost can anyone point me in the right direction to set it up so all of my e-mail is sent using SSL.
