All help would be appreciated. Thanks

This is possible. If you have a direct connection from the monitor to a switch and from the PC to the switch, you just need to find the resolution rates that work with all three devices. You can research the Sun monitor resolution rate at Sun's web site. If you intend to the plug the monitor directly into the PC this will also work. If your Sun monitor is the old style 13W3 (not the standard DB15 that PC's use) you can purchase a cable convertor for this as well. Sun sells them, some PC vendors sell them. Raritan is where I usually by this from - Les Baird is a very knowledgeable guy there - 800.724.8090 x1226. Good luck.
