Using VPN With 98/Me on an NT Server

We currently have an NT4 server set up at my place of work. VPN was set up on the server to allow our employees access to the network when at home. Only problem is most are running Win98 or ME – This is where I run into problems. I am running a cable connection and WinME on my computer. I can log into the VPN with no problems but then thats all I can do. It logs in but I am still basically “Stuck” at my local machine with no sort of access to the VPN network. Upon moving my connection to an NT Workstation I am able to log into the VPN and browse the network with no problems whatsoever. Why can I not acheive these results on my 98/Me workstations?
