VB commands unavailable to Access 97 DB

For example:

fs.getfile “C:\” & Trim(me!file) & “.doc”

Errors out. Have uninstalled/reinstalled Office 97 Prof. Have downloaded all available updates. Assume I may need an “ADD-IN” but don’t know which one. Any help?
