VBScript X,Y Position

By agearhart ·
I have an ASP application developed with VBScript that HAS to be in a frameset. Is there any way to leave a page in my main frame, capture the current scroll/x,y position, and code a link on the next page so that I return to the same scroll positionwhen I return to the prior page? In other words, I'd like a user to be able to scroll through text in my main frame, click on a reference link, and click on a button on the reference page that takes them back to the EXACT place they were on the textpage (without using window.history etc.) Thx

There are several ways to do it, depending on the platforms and information structures involved.

For instance, you could place anchors throughout the page based on subject matter or even paragraph number. Encode each link with it's anchor source. Then when the link is clicked, capture the current source on the server side.

Then when you hit the "go back to where I came from" button, you can take that user to their origin.

There are about ten other ways to do this, so if this doesn't work, let me know.
