video drivers gone!

By randerson7 ·
Upon replacing the HDD, I am sometimes faced with incomplete drivers and the system opts for the "general" vga that produces poor quality at 16 colors. How to decide which drivers to use? Is there a generic driver? For the record, this happens when installing W98 and the video is onboard.

Firstly this question should be addressed to

The Q & A section but having said that you need the M'Board CD for the video drivers as they are on this.

Failing that you need to know what the video type is so again you need to know what the M'Board is and then look up their web site and then you download the lattest video drivers from there. You could always download the manual and read it for the makers of the video chipset but then again they probably wouldn't support onboard drivers for M'Boards and refer you to the M'Board maker for a solution.

by infiniteender00 In reply to Firstly this question sho ...

Find the Make and Model # and go to the manufacturer's website... go to the Driver's section.. find your PC model #...find video drivers section and VOILA' !!! ... Download your drivers. If for some sad reason your PC's maunfacturer isnt available online.. post your make and model # and I'm sure I can find the drivers for you. ( if not, someone else will)

Good Luck!
