Trying to fit a title into 40 characters is extremely difficult.
Anyway, my question. We use Outlook 2000 on the desktops and Exchange 5.5 on an NT4 Server for approx 45 Clients.
I have 2 issues, the first being that occassionaly another users Mailbox shows up in the Outlook of a completely different user and when we try to look at it, it says that you do not have permission to look at it and to seek advice from the administrator. I am the administrator and haven't a clue?
Second issue as this is also happening on a PC with the same problem as above. I have just changed the Services properties to accept a new user and when she is sent a business card and attempts to save it to her contacts it goes into a nother users contacts who has nothing to do with the PC. I have looked at addressing in Services and this other user is there, but it is pointing to the new user, plus where it says keep addresses in: I can see 4 contacts folders. Which ever one I use it still puts the address inthis other users contacts.
Very Stuck, don't know where to go next?
Help, please.

I haven't seen these specific problems that you are describing, but Outlook profiles can get corrupted and do weird things. I'd recommend just deleting all Outlook profiles on each of these workstations and then creating a new one from scratch for the current user. It sounds almost like someone is trying to keep re-using the same profile for different users and it's getting corrupted, or possibly settings are being left behind that should have been changed. Hope this helps!

Although you didn't give me the exact answer you pointed me in the right direction. I haven't dealt with profiles before now and have just a lot about them. I did find a way in which I could delete the numerous address books and also by creating a new profile for the user I have removed the mysterious mailbox that was showing up in the current users profile. So I have rated this as acceptable and that way you get the 300 points.
thanks
