vista on integrated graphics

By lukee12345 ·
my organisation is looking to purchase new machines shortly but we're not sure how vista would run on integrated graphics? the chip we would be using is an "Integrated Intel? Graphics Media Accelerator X3000". Tasks performed are word processing/email/internet etc. And we would use the Standard interface, not Aero.
Will vista run alright with integrated graphics or should we look at dedicated cards?

From what you describe, it won't be a problem at all.

I have a viao with integrated graphis. I found some articles on tweaking the display properties. You don't have to use the AERO stye and that cuts down on the overhead. I did not really notice big drop in performance with AERO cut on either. It was negligible.

It should work fine. I am not sure about compatibility with your graphics cards, but I am using integrated graphics w/out Aero on several notebook systems.
