vista pc added to xp network can’t find xp connected printer …. :(

by beckumsca . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

I just added a Vista laptop to my home network. All other machines in the network are running XP. 2 are wired and up to 4 connect via WiFi. With the exception of the Vista machine, all the other machines see and share as they should. The Vista sees and connects to the router and internet but is blind to everything else. Sharing is on and so is discovery. The Vista help doesn’t suggest anything beyond those settings. I can do a XP machine almost with my eyes closed, but this Vista is another matter. All I can say is “What were they thinking?” Everything is harder and slower to get through with Vista. And it being a new machine, I don’t want to fudge the warranty by downgrading to XP.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks ! ! !
