VISTA TASKBAR

aFTER GETTING A BLUE SCREEN FAULT WITH MY PC, I FIND THAT I CANNOT UNLOCK MY TASKBAR. IT IS NOT GREYED OUT, AND IT LETS ME UNTIC THE BOX, BUT IT FAILS TO UNLOCK.

Two things spring to mind . . .

1. What did the Blue Screen say?

2. After you unticked the box did you move your pointer up into the desktop area, and CLICK?

<Third thing . . .>

3. Blue Screens in Vista are seldom derisive; Red Screens are the ones you should worry about.

didn't make a note of what the screen said unfortunately. After un-ticing, clicking on the desktop made no differences.

What did you do immediately before the Blue Screen?

Did you install something, you originally posted something about Office?

Did Vista recover on its own?

I'm thinking you may have another process loaded that is inhibiting the 'unticking' of the taskbar lock. Not a lot is jumping into my consciousness though.
