Hi Mark, I am an IT professional and I have been using Vista Ult. since
Beta. Heres the deal, I built a system for my teenage son, on which he
has “User” account priviledges. I have my Admin account to do
maintenance. Well last night I went in to load some apps and when I
looked at his account it had admin priv., I mean it was set as an
Administrator which I know I did not do. I asked him and he said it was
just that way, now when I went into look at events I noticed something
very weird,it looked like somebody or he was powercycling the system, I
try to be cautious not to let my kid’s know the admin password,of course
he may have seen it when I logged in once. Go figure, also let’s set the
scenario for you, the computer is in his room, I already established
that he was trying to log on even when it was not in his time limits set
in “Parental Controls”. Now that being said sorry this is long but it
kinda has me freaked out, I checked under Computer Mng and his account
was not in the Admin Grp, and when I looked at the Users in Control Panel his
account was set to “User”, here is where it gets weird, when I went back
to his account window which I had open all the time it was no longer
Admin but it had reverted back to a plain “User” accnt,at that point I
thought I was losing my mind and halucinating. Somehow he did something
because also in the Parental Controls box where it shows websites looked
at and websites blocked, it showed 2 different things,and most of the
looked at sites are places that should be blocked. What happened? Please
help.
