visual studio toolbox

By dean ·
I would like for all of my developers to share the same toolbox file. In NT/2000 the toolbox.tbd file is put into their local profile. I can not find a place to change it in Visual Studio, nor do I see it in the registry. Any ideas???

Can you clarify your question please.
What do you mean by NT/2000 you are having the tbd file in local profile?

In Visual Basic, the Toolbox contents are dependent on the Project Components. In VB, it is available in Project->Components... Menuoption. There will be differences in Toolbox contents in different Projects one has their system. For Example, I have Project1 and Project2. Project1 uses a set of custom controls and Project2 uses different set of custom controls (components). Therefore there will be difference in Toolbox when I am working on Project1 and when I am working on Project2.

In otherwords, the contents of the Toolbox are dependent on Project properties not on User or System.

I am sure it is very much similar case in VC++ or any other Visual Studio Product.

I have to agree with the previous reply.

The toolbox is determined by the addition and use of components within any one project. As a result the concept of having a fixed or limited component setup within a standard toolbox becomes insubstantial.

On the other hand, if the intention is create a common start point for new projects, this can be best achieved using a project template.
