Well, i was told of this Vmware and the microsoft equivilent Virtual PC. Ok whats the point of this? The only reason i have come up with is to save the trouble of partitioning your HDD. Sounds interesting but...why get it???

Virtualize environment

by anders_emajl In reply to Vmware?

Hi, simply put.
If you act as an administrator of computer network there are always reasons to use virtual machines.

With administrativ programming, I use virtual machines too test my work prior to releasing it.

Add the global heating to it and I think why not use one big server and plenty of virtual ones to reduce elctric' usage aswell as reduce hardware in the server room. It also reduce the heat and the coolingsystem in the serverroom.
