VPN and packet filters

By cbutler ·
I'm wondering if anyone could give me a few tips on setting up a vpn connection. Our firewall is running linux, and I want to be able to tunnel through the firewall, and have it connect with our NT server box. I've read and re-read microsoft's whitepaper and even played around a little with ipchains. The white paper lists a few filters that need to be set, but I'm a little confused how it will work. I can setup a basic filter, but it mentions something about setting the IP Protocol ID to 47... any ideas how to do that? Also, it seems to me that somehow the firewall will need to be able to redirect all VPN requests to our NT server. Can that be done directly in Ipchains, or is there something else that needs to be configured. I am fairly new to linux, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
