VPN Problems

by ftpgood . Updated 23 years, 8 months ago

I am trying to setup Windows 2000 VPN Server behind a firewall (Linux). I have port forwarding enabled on firewall to forward ports UDP 500, TCP 1723 and IP 47 to VPN server (to internal static IP address). What I should do on VPN Server (I would assume I don’t need to setup port filtering on VPN box). PPTP ot L2PT? To Enable and install VPN box as RAS first (Tried using MS’s wizard to install VPN Server – it enables port filtering :(. Server has two network interfaces – both on local network with static IP-s. DHCP, WINS and DNS are functiong properly. When accessing VPN from my home I get msg. “Verifying Username and password” and than “Server is not responding, please try later”.

Any help would be welcomed….
