Hello-
This question pertains to the windows 2000 virtual memory. some time ago when i had restarted i received a virtual memory error which had instructed me to adjust the minimum and/or maximum size of my pagefile.sys file for better virtual memory performance, then proceed to reboot. Before i had made the appropriate changes (1.5x ram), the amount of available memory ram for apps and background services was reading 20 megs. so after making the changes and rebooting my system, i received the same error. it had seemed to me at this point that i had made an error in my changes. i then proceeded to repeat the process several more times with the same result. in NT4 we were able to delete pagefile.sys and it would create a new one whenwe restarted. after researching microsoft’s knowledge base for some time, i came across the article #Q255205 – How to Delete the Pagefile.sys File in the Recovery Console. when i tried to do this following the articles instructions, it gave me theerror “access denied
