W2k SVR wants Active Directory PDC.

I came into a situation where the previous consultant upgraded an NT BDC to Windows 2000 AS without demoting the server to a member server. Now I can’t join a new domain or rename the SVR because every time you reboot it want’s to find the AD PDC, and there is not one! The PDC is still NT 4.0 and the rest of the servers are WIN2K. They are not planning on upgrading to AD for a few more months so until then they need this server (and it’s info) up and working. Any info would be appreciated!
