W8 - I finally found the Help files

By CharlieSpencer ·
In W8, MS has apparently disabled the most basic of function keys. F1 doesn't bring up a Help screen in either Metro or Classic interfaces. Here's how I was able to get there, although there may be other methods.

Hover your mouse over the bottom left corner, then click Search.
In the Search field, type 'Help' (without the quotes)
When the 'Help and Support' shortcut appears to the left, right-click it.
In the bottom right, click 'Pin'.

I find it ironic that the Help app opens in the Classic format. I don't know the quality of the it yet, so it may be completely useless. But I wanted to get this up for those others who, like me, are attempting to apply years of Windows desktop experience to an OS where they apparently don't apply. Most of us know 'Linux is not Windows'; now 'Windows 8 is not Windows either'.
