Want to go back to a plain VGA Video Dri

How do I undo a Video Adapter selection mistake?
I chose the wrong type of Video Adapter and now I can’t boot in normal mode. It comes up in Safe mode, but when I try to change it I don’t see an option to load just a plain video driver. This is a P4 with a ATI Rage 128 Pro video card. Any help would be appreciated.
