I am using a WD 120GB HDD for over two yrs. It is powered internally with 2 USB cables.My OS is Windows XP – 32 bit. The device apprently fell off from my table few days back and since then its not recognised when i connect to any computer system. The LED powers on initially, then i can feel the disk vibrating for few secs, then it powers down automatically. when it powers down windows shows a “Remove Hardware” icon. It is listed as a USB device in Device Manager and it says no driver installed. It is not shown in My Computer or Disk Management.
Pls help out.
