WD2002 – Cross-reference in footnote

Hi,

I have the following tricky one…

When creating a word document, I entered a footnote in a paragraph, and within that footnote, I inserted a cross-reference to another heading in the document.
When clicking the link/cross-reference it sends me to the top of my document.

Creating a cross-reference in any other part in the document to the same heading or to another one works fine…
Saving the document and opening it in WD97, it works as well, so there is nothing wrong with the document itself… only WD2002 gets confused…
Already searched Technet and MS website… no luck…
