What is so special about the Weblogic Server and Java combination, what does it have that other combinations do not have, and are there any competitors threatning this combination?

WebLogic Server

Hello Nitin,

Weblogic App Server is a J2EE compliant application server written in Java (for most part). By J2EE compliant, we mean that it supports and offers all the services offered by the J2EE specification. The most These services being EJB,Servlets, JSP, JMS etc.

There are other products, such as IBM's Websphere, Sun/Netscape's iPlanet, SilverStream etc, etc.

Mostly, all these products provide the basic functionality dictated by the J2EE standards.

Hope this cleared some cloud around the Weblogic. Please free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

regards,

-Ravi<ananth_manabala@yahoo.com>
