website development & browser compatibil

Our company website does not currently function well in AOL or Netscape…as I am not a programmer I am unable to fix it. But the website falls under my advertising budget and I find it unacceptable to have it out on the net with such glaring problems. Our current programmer is a database programmer and has not previously developed websites, basically on a “learn as you go” basis. The site works very well in IE but nothing else. This has been going on since Feb. 2001 and I have yet to see anyimprovement. I have received no help from the programmer, who says he will get to it when he can…but as to my requests for a plan of attack or a written synopsis of the problem and possible solutions, there has been no response. What I would like to know from some more “tech savvy” people out there are the following: please look at our website: www.woodloch.com and let me know if this is a problem that can definitely be fixed. and if so, is it a very complicated procedure that a novice website developer can handle or should it be passed on to more capable hands? By the way, the site was originally designed by someone with many years of design experience, but when it was brought in house, the code was changed drastically by the staffprogrammer. Thanks.
