my athlon 900 running windows xp pro recently crashed. after hours of reinstalling the operating system and getting the system back up, i thought everything was in order but have found that it’s impossible to mark files, folder, or drives as private whereas before I was able to right click on a certain drive or folder and exclude the other users in the house from accessing those areas.
another weird thing is that I can’t save games. I’ve tried to save games (progress in games) in the Sims (vacation), Risk II, and Max Payne. In each game I was unable to save my progress in the game.
I have two 40 meg hard drives, one of them partitioned in two. My local drive that windows is on is my e: drive. The c and d drives I have allocatedfor games and music. All drives are nfts. Just curious if anyone out there ever ran into a similar problem and if so, how you fixed it.
I’ve exhausted the FAQ files on microsoft.com as well as the help file that is within Windows XP Pro.
