Well, end of a Thursday and all I can say is

By jdclyde ·
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock

Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring

Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun

Now the jingle hop has begun

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock

Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time

Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square

In the frosty air.

What a bright time, it's the right time

To rock the night away

Jingle bell time is a swell time

To go gliding in a one-horse sleigh

Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet

Jingle around the clock

Mix and a-mingle in the jingling feet

That's the jingle bell,

That's the jingle bell,

That's the jingle bell rock

Thanks JD

I've been whistling "Baby Elephant Walk" all day, and wondered how I was going to break it. :)

It just seemed like the thing to do, ya know?

Well, Mel Torme did, after all, write the Christmas Song. . . .

I should welcome a change. I took my older kids to see Clerks II and the closing credits song is that stupid Soul Asylum song 'Frustrated Incorporated'. It's been in my head ever since. Baby Elephant walk isn't much better.

I'm glad this day is almost over. I had a bad 'insomnia' night. I've been up since 1:00AM and am so tired my eyes have been watering for the past hour and I'm fighting to keep my eyes open. I'm definitely breaking out the ambien tonight.

Careful going home

Got far to go?

DWT, or Driving While Tired, is ranked almost as highly as DUI for causing fatal accidents.

be careful.

That sleeping thing still an issue?

I have been doing GREAT with mine. Ever since the EX moved out, I get more and more sleep. So the last three years of averaging four hours a night was because she was there. I can get UP TO seven hours of sleep a few times a week, although five or six is the average.

The drive

by maecuff In reply to Careful going home

is fine, just about 5 minutes. I think I can handle that much. And yes, the sleeping thing is still there. Fortunately, I finally found a doctor who will give be ambien. I only take it after I have a couple really bad nights. Not only because it's addictive, but she'll only give me so many, so I ration them out. (how's that for 'junkie' like behavior :) ).

The pills are great. I've actually slept over 7 hours without waking up once, that hasn't happened in 4 or 5 years. Last night, I cleaned, read, watched TV and resorted to watching the alarm clock until 2 minutes before it went off.

We're in the middle of nasty contract negotiations that have fallen flat. It is more likely than not that our parent company will close us down. I'm not all that concerned about finding another job, it's not been difficult in the past. However, I've been putting together little things I've heard here and there, and it seems that my job will be in jeapordy long before they make any moves to shut us down. And my problem is this, I've never been fired or laid off from a job in my life, and apparently, my ego has a problem with that possibility and won't let me sleep. :)

Let the Ego win

by jdclyde In reply to The drive

Start looking for something else, and quit before you can be let go.

OR you can put this in proper perspective. If you see this coming and can get your finances in shape, take the unemployement and use it as a well deserved break for a month. That might be just what you need to get this sleeping in order?

Not laid-off, on VACATION!

Agreed!

by Old Guy In reply to Let the Ego win

That would be one of the best ways of working it.

hmmm maybe I shouldn't...

... mention that I sleep like a baby for 8 to 12 hours every day. ]:)

literally.

I have recently had stretches that lasted for 18 hours of un interupted sleep.
life is good when you aren't fighting your body's natural clock by being up in the daytime.

Ain't that the truth!

I can sleep just fine, from 3am to noon.
