What am I doing wrong?.... PDF editor

By sw723 ·
I have downloaded a number of PDF editors today and I cannot seem to get any of them to work. It has to be something I am doing.. The current one I am working with is "cad-kas pdf editor 2.2".
I do not have the full version of Adobe Acrobat ; only the reader 5.1.0. I cannot get any of these to edit the text. Some tell me to highlight the text... I cannot highlight any text.... Help Please......Windows 98SE....

You cannot edit text with the reader, this is a feature that Adobe does provide acrobat reader.

You,actually have to purchase the Acrobat Distiller, which is expensive, your best option would be to locate a download that will allow you to convert the pdf to a word document and edit text.

Most people that put pdf's out there make it impossible to edit when they distill them so people cannot alter their work.
If they want they can even prohibit printing. where did you get the pdf from? If it is from someone you know then ask them to send an editable one.

The person that sent this PDF file to me scanned it in and did not mean to keep me from editing. What should I tell her to do that will allow me to edit?

When scanning save it to a Word doc not a pdf file or text format.

Good Luck
