What are settings for optimizing RAM?

By zenith ·
I've just installed 576MB of Ram in my 300mhz running win98. I do a lot of multimedia work with large files and would like to optimize my configuration of RAM (extended?, etc.) and virtual memory. What would the best settings be, why and how do I make them?

Reference the following site to gatherinfo to change the virtual memory
1)www.geocities.com/Pipeline/5748/opmem13.htm
2)http://windowslibrary.win2000mag-asap.com/info/com.duke_winitlib_440_440.htm
3)http://www.elementkjournals.com/ewn/9401/ewn40016.htm
To get to Virtual Memory, open the Control Panel,double-click the System icon, when the window opens click on the Performance tab, then click the Virtual Memory button, select to specify your own button
