What are the best laptops for software development at highest level?

I need to buy a new laptop for software development purposes as my current laptop is not versatile for my current workload. I need to get a laptop which can be very effective for compiling and building large projects,
competitive to workstations, making my daily coding much easier, and one of my main requirement is portability as I am used to carrying my laptop all-day.

Just go for something with some grunt large HDD and enough RAM. Not sure if the i9’s have made it into NB yet but if not an i7 CPU will do but push for one of the faster ones.

Gigabyte make high end systems for the big makers and when they carry a Dell or HP Badge they cost accordingly but if you buy them with their own brand you’ll get a high performance NB a lot cheaper than the Big Name Brand and depending on where you are in the world most likely better service in the event of a breakdown.

But you need to remember the Big Advantage of a Note Book is that they are portable and the biggest Disadvantage is that they are Portable.

Moving the unit with a HDD Running will kill the drive very quickly unless it is a SSD Drive but then it probably will not be big enough for your needs . Last time I looked affordable SSD’s came in around the 500 Meg Size where as a Mechanical Drive of the same cost is around 1.5 to 2 Gig.

Well there are a lot of factors to consider before purchasing a laptop. Like what will be the use? Is it for office work, programming, designing, gaming, or normal routine task?

There are lots of laptops available in the market in the range of $500 to $2000.

For your development, I would recommend you to go with a workstation laptop. As my friend is also using Dell XPS 15, and the best part is he is using his laptop more than 12 hours a day.

If you are comfortable with apple OS than you can buy macbook the latest version.. If not, dell xps series is pretty good when it comes to high end hardware and specifications with great processing power. Also, dell is a reliable brand in long term.
