What are the correct image specifications for web?

By AstieD ·
I have uploaded images onto my website via iweb at 72dpi, Jpeg, RBG but they show up very pixilated when the site goes live. Why would this be and what am I doing wrong?

How big are the actual Images?

While 72 DPI is about right for Web Resolution it doesn't support large size pictures very well particularly if the Web Site Upsizes the image.

So if your original Image is 3 X 4 Inch and the Web Site displays it at 8 X 10 inch it's going to look RS.

If that is what is happening here you'll need to experiment a bit with different resolution Images to get it right. Just remember that the bigger the image the slower it is to open on a slow Net Connection and this may be an issue that you need to deal with as well.
