What are the steps to share applications

By Yamezbond ·
I want to run office 2000 from a server (win2k). I have two computer testing: one is a win2k server and win2k workstation.
I install the msi office pack in the server under software settings on Group policy. After I install this I get the office icons on the workstation but none of the application run or open.
What are steps to make this scenario work?
How can we make others run office from the server?

Thanks in advance.

Are you applying this policy to the USER or COMPUTER?
Are you getting any errors or entires in the event log?
Makes sure that your Group Policy allow the user to read the direcotry that your packages are installed in. ( ie... \\server\packages) and make sure that 'share' allows them to read from there also.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

Are you trying to run the program from the server? or to install it from the network?
