The best tools I can think of are a volt meter and a small-slotted screwdriver.

Be sure it’s not wet though.

This was a go to tool decades ago for me when I was diagnosing custom built electronics. Due to poor build issues such as bad crimps and solder joints you would poke and prod connections to see if they would make or break with the pressure from the wood stick.
