What do i do to get my mouse and keyboard to work?

By fin4lprayer ·
So yesterday i built my computer, and was having problems with the screen turning on. I got the 8 pin converter to plug into the motherboard and now it turns on =D

However, when i turn on the computer...the mouse and keyboard light up but when it gets to the windows screen, they both shut off. But if i go into the (i think) BIOS menu, they stay on, but then when i back out to start windows...they shut off. So do i need to activate something or turn something on in that menu?

Are you using some kind of converter with your old power supply, despite our advice to you?

So you ignore the advice and create another thread...

Since this IS a new thread, can you detail what wattage this PSU is and what components you are hoping it to power?

What kind of mouse and keyboard do you have ?...

I've had a couple of rodents in the past that had an illuminated wheel (the variable colours indicating different dpi settings) but I've never had a keyboard that remained illuminated constantly.

Are you connecting these devices via PS/2 or USB ?

Go into the BIOS and enable 'Legacy USB' ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to USB..

I don't know which BIOS you've got but somewhere in there you'll find an option (ON/OFF) for 'Legacy USB'.

I reckon it's probably turned OFF at the moment. Turn it on, press F10 to Save & Exit, then boot again.

It should work now.

In the USB configuration menu, it says:
USB Devices Enabled:
1 keyboard, 1 mouse <--Theyre a darker grey, as compared to a white if that matters...

And it says that legacy USB is enabled
