What files to backup for Outlook?

By mike ·
I want to back-up all the essential Outlook files to another computer, in case this hard drive goes bonkers. What files do I need to keep backed up?

Usually the Outlook data is in folder C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. The outlook data name is Outlook.pst. Just copy this file on a safe location and it?s done.

Also copy any .pst files, as they are the 'personal folders' that help many people reduce their mailbox size and organize their mail

Don't forget to use the Save My Settings wizard to save all your app settings including accounts and such in Outlook. It's an invaluable tool for easily recovering from a crash.
