Does it actually read SVD? ~

SVCD stands for "Super VideoCD" ~

Search for SVCD video; for information on how to play the file...

Right

SVD, as far as I can tell, is only used with MS Word. x1Deimos is right in suggesting you double check.

Societas Verbi Divini

by john_wills In reply to What in the world is SVD?

The Society of the Divine Word started as a German missionary society with similar lifestyle to Mill Hill, Maryknoll, Scarboro, Immensee, etc. Because of government regulations its first house was in Steyl in Netherland, and that is where its HQ still is. One of their pupils was Augustus Tolton, the first full-blooded Black Catholic priest in the U.S. I don't know what they have to do with your video file.
