What is my modem speed?

By Mindaugas ·
Hi,

I have Win2K Profesional. V.90 56 kb modem. Where can I find the information about my modem speed while I am on-line? Before with Win98 I saw on button right screen corner.
Thanks

When searching for the speed of your internet connection, you can go to www.dslreports.com . When you make it to this page go to the left hand-side of the page and look for the sub-topic TOOLS. Directly under this topic click speed test and you will be able to check the speed of your modem.

Try:
http://computingcentral.msn.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest500.asp

This should give you an idea of your speed.

Check under "My Network Connections"
There should be a link for your internet connection. right click and check the properties. It should say your speed and time connected.

In My Computer->Control Panel->Network and Dial-up Connections right click on the icon for Your ISP and press Properties. Then under the General tab there should be a check box that says "Show icon in taskbar when connected." When this is checked you see the same icon that Win98 has. You can also do this with lan connections.

there is a check box to be checked when you look at the Network and dialup settings. Just right-click with your mouse on the connection and chec the show icon on toolbar. Voila that should do it!
