I am looking for suggestions for continuing education. Here is my story.
I started off in 1982 with an ASEE and a job as a technician at a Computerland. I’ve worked in various positions in all areas of computers mostly in consulting roles. I am currently Director of MIS at a $60 million company managing 70 seats, a dozen servers, one network administrator and several vendors. I report to the CFO and manage my own budget. I also advise approximately 150 franchised retail locations on their systems although I do not manage these.
At 41 years young I have put myself in a bit of a precarious situation as I have not kept up with degrees/certifications beyond the ASEE. My question is do I get some certifications and then explore a BS/MBA or do I go for the degree first? Are there combination BS/MBA where I could complete both? I have also seen some schools that combine certs with degrees. Any suggestions would help.
