      Network Address Translation (NAT)

      Network Address Translation (NAT)

Its useful for lots of stuff. Most often you will see it used for firewall security through masquerading. This makes an outside address map to a inside network, and the other way around.

What are you trying to do? Do you have a software or hardware firewall. Are you using IPSEC?

      NAT is Network Address Translation
This feature does hid you from the internet by translating private IP address used in you internetwork from the public IP address of the site you are contacting. This is very helpful as a firewall prevention. Internet Connection Sharing uses this feature in Windows 2000 and XP.

Your problem trying to connect from another computer is not related to NAT.
