What laptop should I buy?

Hi, I am looking to buy a new laptop and I don’t know what to get. I currently have a Samsung notebook 7 spin. I love my laptop, but it’s over 4 years old now and it just doesn’t run like it used to. I take it to the computer repair place because it gets viruses, and they make it run better, but never like it should. I need a laptop mainly for playing world of warcraft, but I’m a very casual gamer so I don’t want to spend big bucks on a gaming laptop. I want just a normal laptop that can run warcraft well without any issues. I also need a laptop for printing things and just normal computer stuff. I don’t want to spend a fortune because I won’t use it constantly. A thousand dollars is my absolute maximum. I plan to buy one on sale if I can decide on which one to buy. Things that are important to me are, decent battery life, capable of running warcraft, light weight, and doesn’t overheat easily. One of the things I love about my current laptop is that the fan vents aren’t on the bottom so if it sits on my lap or a blanket, it doesn’t overheat. Also if anyone has any advice about virus protection and how to make a laptop run well for more than a few years, I’d be very grateful! I genuinely don’t understand why technology doesn’t last longer than 2 or 3 years. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, please comment! Thank you all so much! I’m really unsure about what I should get.

Why? https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Notebook-Touch-Screen-NP740U3L-L02US-i5-6200U/dp/B01I4H1PSQ and other sites show a HDD.
For (cost) 100USD I can find a SSD of about 1TB and it would perform better than new.

Ok thank you! It really makes me happy that I can just fix mine instead of buying a new one! I will take it back to the computer shop and have them fix it. Thank you so much!

Instead of buying a new laptop, reformatting/restoring to factory settings might be a good option. Before you attempt to do so, make sure you have all required/necessary programs documented, your OS license available. Do a backup of your hard disk before doing any system changes.
There might be nothing wrong with the hardware, just a lot of garbage stored on your hard disk from old programs, documents, pictures, etc. hogging your resources.
Best wishes.

Thank you! I’m so relieved! My friend told me that laptops only last a few years and I should just get another. I’m so glad that I can keep mine instead! I will take it to the shop this week! Thanks so much!
