What laptop would you recommend for graphic designing and casual gaming

Hello! I’m here today to ask you all for some advice. I’m currently in the market for a new laptop that will primarily be used for graphic designing, but I also want it to be capable of handling light gaming when I need a break from work. I thought this would be the perfect place to ask for some recommendations

There are some other things I would prefer the laptop to have like it shouldn’t be too heavy since I travel a lot, and it shouldn’t overheat too much. MAJOR bonus points if the battery life is good too, though I have a powerbank so this isn’t a hard requirement.

As for the operating system, I’m not too tech savvy so ig Windows should be good. I did read an article on making Overwatch 2 run on Linux (one of the games i want the laptop to run) so Linux should be alright.

Oh and I don’t really have a budget lol as long as what I’m getting is well worth the price, I’m willing to pay anything that isn’t too overpriced.

Looking forward to hearing from you guy. Sorry for any errors since english isn’t my first language haha

      You have conflicting goals.

Maybe the new Apple M2 or soon M3 might hit the goal of battery and performance but for me I can’t use their product.

Also what is this about OVERHEAT? I haven’t seen laptops that overheat since over a decade ago. The designs are now such that they slow down to prevent such an event.

Finally, battery time is going to plummet while gaming or doing heavy design work. No laptop I know has say 8 hours of battery time while playing or doing heavy work.

Look at what you have now. What is the problem with that model?

I saw in some comments on another topic about best qualification for gaming CPU and they recommend Core i9, RTX 3070 and 32GB RAM. I think it also can be used for designing and casual gaming since designing takes up more space and RAM too just like gaming. Cmiiw!

      Hello,
For graphic designing and casual gaming, I would recommend a laptop that has a powerful processor, sufficient RAM, a dedicated graphics card, and a high-resolution display. Based on these requirements, one laptop that stands out is the Dell XPS 15. It offers a balance of performance and portability, making it suitable for graphic design tasks and casual gaming.
The Dell XPS 15 is equipped with a powerful Intel Core i7 or i9 processor, which provides the processing power needed for graphic design software and gaming applications.
It comes with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX or RTX graphics card, ensuring smooth rendering and graphics performance. The laptop also offers ample RAM options, typically ranging from 16GB to 32GB, which is beneficial for multitasking and handling resource-intensive applications.

In terms of the display, the Dell XPS 15 features a stunning 15.6-inch 4K Ultra HD Infinity Edge touchscreen display. This high-resolution display offers exceptional color accuracy and clarity, making it ideal for graphic design work. Additionally, it enhances the gaming experience with vibrant visuals and sharp details.

The Dell XPS 15 also boasts a sleek and premium design, with a thin bezel and a lightweight chassis, making it convenient for on-the-go use. It offers a comfortable keyboard and a responsive touchpad for effortless navigation. The laptop provides ample storage options, including solid-state drives (SSD) for fast boot times and quick file access.

Overall, the Dell XPS 15 is a versatile laptop that strikes a good balance between graphic design capabilities and casual gaming performance. It combines powerful hardware specifications with a high-resolution display and a portable form factor, making it a recommended choice for professionals and enthusiasts seeking a laptop for both graphic design work and occasional gaming.

For graphic designing and casual gaming, I’d suggest a laptop with a good balance of processing power and a dedicated GPU. Look for laptops with a powerful processor like Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 and a graphics card like NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5600M. Having at least 16GB of RAM will also help with multitasking and design software performance.
