What next? Free logos for email information?

What is with this sudden push for building personal on-line Contact lists? Why is TechRepublic starting to push for us to share personal contact information with others???

It sounds just like AIM, GMail, and other "Give us your contact list information" scams. If I had wanted to share my information through on-line contact lists I would have already done so.

I do correspond with other TechRepublic Members, but do not see any need to create an online Contact List.

So, what's the deal?

To keep in contact with those that you regularly privately post to and keep them all in one place. A bit like the Tech Republic Network where you can quickly find someone without needing to troll through various discussions looking for them.

I use a single mail account for TR and so far I haven't received any Spam through it only direct contacts from other members and the news letters that I've subscribed to so TR must be doing something right or the other way of looking at it is that I'm not important enough to bother Spamming. :)
