What to do guard against corrupt files

I would like some feedback from anyone who would has any ideas!

We use RAID controllers and multiple hard drives to protect our data from hardware failures but what do we do to protect against data corruption? Of course we use back up systems butif a system boot file or registry hive get corrupted you still have to reinstall the server before you can restore from a back up. What are small business doing to avoid the downtime from file corruption?
