What's happened to linux.org?

By wokkawokka200 ·
I've always used this site as a linux learning resource but its been down for the last 2 months. Is the site officially dead?

Have you tried anternates?

by markp24 In reply to What's happened to linux. ...

It may have changed names? I saw an old aricle from 1998 that showed they were changing isp's, then another in 2006 stating they were down, but here are som e other sites that may help.

Thanks for this. The other sites are good but they don't compare to the organised structure of the courses available on linux.org
I've tried many sites and spent a few nights googling for hours but couldn't find anything regarding the sites current status and future.

Yep, the DNS records are trashed.

by seanferd In reply to What's happened to linux. ...

There is only an NS record (and only in delegation). www.linux.org popped off the radar around December/January, it seems.

You can always try ringing Linux Online, Inc. But Linux.com and the Linux Documentation project are pretty good.
