When trying to change the theme, the following error message appears

When trying to change windows xp theme, the following error message appears:
"Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It could be the the dll file is corrupt and you could try copying over a good one like this or try the link below.

You could try and replace the dll from the XP CD. Unregister it first then expand the new file and reregister it.

Expand d:\i386\uxtheme.dl_ c:\windows\system32\uxtheme.dll

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\uxtheme.dll
