Where are cookies stored?

By SaltyDog56 ·
When I swap out a computer, one of the things I copy over to the new system is the cookies folder. We use XP Pro. Ever since we upgraded to IE 7, I have not been able to locate that folder. Where did they go?

The cookies are in the profile.
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.
You have to show hidden files to see them.
The other thing you can do is use something like the User State Migration Tool.
It will backup all this stuff for you.

Sometimes they are.

Their main storage area is C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Cookies

Sometimes they will also be in Dan's path

Like Dan says USMT will get them.
